I have been waiting to get my hands on the Beelink EX Mate Pro Laptop Companion and finally purchased one this past week. My primary reason for getting one was that it has four slots for SSD storage, so I thought it would make for a great backup storage unit for my AI setup — with the added benefits of a speaker, microphone, Bluetooth, and hub.
All the extra features on it work great:
- Speaker
- Microphone
- Bluetooth
- Hub functionality
If you are buying it as a laptop companion for those functions, it delivers.
The main reason I purchased it was for the backup portion — and that part does not work on my unit. I paired it up with an SSD Beelink sent me and tried it in all four slots without success. Verdict is either the SSD is bad or the unit itself. I will reach out to the support folks there and see what the issue might be.
For now I am giving it a 3 out of 5 because the rest of it works so well I could almost overlook the issue — but the core reason I bought it is still unproven.
