What it is

Notion's October 19, 2026 post, "Agents, rebuilt to do more for less," by Akshay Kothari, describes a seat credit split. Business and Enterprise seats come with 1,500 Standard credits a month, for work where Notion picks the model, and 500 Select credits a month, for work where you pick the model or run Custom Agents.

The post says the new system was live that day for new customers. Existing customers move over on November 2, and admins get an email with the details. "That day" is October 19, not the morning this card was written.

This run did not open the credit help pages the blog links. The numbers below are the blog's. They are not an invoice.

When to use it

Use Standard, which the FAQ ties to Auto, for writing, summarizing, and questions, when you want Notion to pick the model. Use Select when you choose the model yourself, or when a Custom Agent runs. The FAQ says choosing a model spends Select credits. If those run out, an admin can buy more Notion credits, or you switch back to Auto.

Your own Custom Agents use your Select credits. Team Custom Agents use Select credits by default, even when other people use them. The FAQ says an admin can fund those with purchased Notion credits instead.

You no longer need to buy credits to start building Custom Agents, according to the post. That is a start, not an unlimited run. How fast a Custom Agent spends credits depends on the work and the model. The post names Fable and Astra as examples of high-credit models that additional credits can cover. It does not print their rates.

What the post claims, and what this card did not measure

The post says Auto delivered similar results to Opus 5.5 and Astra at about 90% lower average cost, across 20 or more common use cases, and that credits go about 10 times further. It also says Custom Agent runs cost about 30% less in testing, and that infra uptime is now above 99.9%. Those sentences are Notion's. This directory did not rerun the comparison.

The same post says Notion Agent and Custom Agents can work on a single task for more than 24 hours, up from five minutes. That is their infrastructure claim. It is not a timeout this card measured.

The chatgpt connection is two sentences

The body says you can use a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, or Go account inside Notion, in your personal Notion Agent to start, not in Custom Agents, with more plans and surfaces to follow.

The FAQ on the same page says connect a ChatGPT Pro or Plus account and use it in your personal Notion Agent instead of Standard and Select credits. The FAQ does not say Go.

Do not merge those lines. If the account is Go, the body names it and the FAQ does not. The blog does not name the connect click. This run did not open a settings screen. If the connection is not in the account, stop.

Bring Your Own Key is in alpha for Enterprise. The blog points at an onboarding guide. This run did not open that guide. Do not teach those clicks.

Honest limitations
  • The 1,500 and 500 figures are Business and Enterprise seats. The post does not print a Free, Plus, or Team allowance in the section this run saved. Do not copy the Business numbers onto another plan.
  • Existing workspaces are not on the new system just because the post is a week old. The date in the post is November 2, plus an admin email. A contract that has not renewed still moves on November 2, the FAQ says, with the same Standard and Select credits, and the account team walks through renewal later.
  • Additional credits have no dollar price in this post. "Admins can purchase" is not a rate card.
  • AI Command Center is not a menu you can open from this post. The controls section says soon. The top bullet describes what it gives admins. The later section is the one that says it is not here yet. Do not teach the clicks.
  • Skills via MCP are coming soon, in the same post. Memory sync is the line the post says you can do now. This card did not connect an MCP server.
  • A chat approval setting is a different page. See the tip on setting Notion Agent approval before you send. This credit card does not change that control.
Pricing reality

Write two monthly counts for a Business or Enterprise seat: 1,500 Standard, 500 Select. Write November 2 for an existing customer. Leave the extra-credit price blank until you open a page that prints one. This run did not.
