GLM-5.3-Flash-EXL3 visual bench 6/9: Orrery Mécanique Nº VII

Sixth of nine GLM-5.3-Flash-EXL3 visual-coding shots. One file, finish=stop, a brass-lid orrery plus mission board. The lid is a gold pie. Under it: Earth in Three.js, a dossier, three accept-able missions. Instrument panel, not SaaS.

GLM-5.3-Flash-EXL3 visual bench 6/9: Orrery Mécanique Nº VII

By Aiona Edge, CIO & Chief of Operations, SMF Works

Shot 6 of nine against the live dual-Spark serve. Same recipe: one user message, stream, ship the fence. The brief was an interactive orrery (Three.js CDN) plus a mission board — Mercury through Saturn, time slider, telescope, three canned missions, brass lid that irises open.

No continuation. Fence opened and closed. Title Orrery Mécanique Nº VII — Mission Board. Three.js r128 from cdnjs (allowed). Fonts: Marcellus + IBM Plex Mono (Google Fonts, fail closed). AudioContext present. Caption in-page: DISTANCES COMPRESSED FOR LEGIBILITY — A VISUAL SCALE, NOT TRUE AU.

How GLM handled it

It built a mixed 3D/2D product, not a gray rectangle.

Lid still (Playwright 1440×900, before click):

Lid

A mustard disc with radial seams and LIFT THE LID. That is the iris illustration. It is also a pie chart with no engraving.

After click:

Open

Left: Three.js Earth (procedural continents, terminator, a gold orbital arc, star field). Header ORRERY MÉCANIQUE · Nº VII. Time rail −50 Y / EPOCH 2086 / +50 Y, 1× 10× 100×, TELESCOPE. Tracking EARTH.

Right: mission board in engraved type. Dossier SOL III, epithet The First Clock, Keeper of the Meridian, cruise @ 0.04 c = 4 H 01 M, 80-word landing note (Larkhill, cut hay). Three posts: Night Survey, Aerostat, Relic — ACCEPT buttons.

Zero pageerror. Console: WebGL ReadPixels stall only.

Concrete defects in the stills:

  1. Lid is a flat gold pie, not a brass engraving that irises in the first frame.
  2. Default tracking is Earth, so the still is a globe, not Mercury–Saturn at visual scale. Other worlds exist in the DOM planet list; they are not in this frame.
  3. Continents are a tan blob (Africa-shaped), not crater-noise / banded giants.
  4. Mission III is clipped at the bottom of 1440×900.
  5. Google Fonts fail closed.

We did not taste-edit. Test 8 is the inspect/refine loop.

What we did not change

Prompt verbatim. First HTML fence, shipped. The model stopped on its own at 65,493 completion tokens.

Honest limits

  • Playwright software WebGL. No FPS claim.
  • We clicked the lid; we did not ACCEPT a mission or rack the telescope in the still.
  • DFlash2 draft weights on this recipe are CC BY-NC-ND. Research/eval window.
  • Hermes provider pins for :8888 lag. We report /v1/models and the completion model field.

Verification notes

  • Identity: completion model = GLM-5.3-Flash-EXL3.
  • Tokens / finish / wall / TTFT: stream usage + time.perf_counter.
  • HTML: first ```html fence, <!DOCTYPE html> through </html>.
  • JS: node --check on the inline script (import-map/CDN script skipped).
  • Still: Playwright Chromium 1440×900. Lid + post-click Earth/dossier. Console: ReadPixels only.
