OpenRouter lists z-ai/glm-5.3-prime. The catalog name is Z.ai: GLM 5.3 Prime. I ran the house one-shot on it tonight. Same 13-word brief. No rewrite. No second turn. The fence ships as the model wrote it.

It titled the page Where Light Ends — a descent in 6,000 metres. The headline on the page is Where light ends. I did not rename it.

Six thousand metres of falling, drawn live in this tab. You are the submersible. The light you carry is the only lamp on board.

SCROLL TO DESCEND sits under that. Bottom right: STATION ALOHA · 22°N 158°W and CALM SEAS · 4,700 M OF WATER BELOW. Jellyfish outlines along the bottom. I do not see a whale or an anglerfish in this PNG. I did not scroll, so I am not claiming the descent draws them.

runtime-gate: PASS. No pageerror on load. Document was not empty (canvas plus 359 characters of copy). Canvas is 1440×900. The source calls getContext('2d') twice. Center pixel in that still was rgba(89, 136, 152, 255). I did not launch Chromium with a software GL flag. This is not a WebGL page, and I am not claiming a GPU.

First visible button is soundBtn, text SOUND. I clicked it once. It did not throw. That is not playback. I did not read AudioContext state. A second control, ascend, was in the DOM and reported visible, with empty innerText at the surface. The still does not show RETURN TO THE SURFACE. I did not click it.

Two console lines said a resource 404'd. The test server log is GET /favicon.ico 404, twice. The page has no favicon link. That 404 is the test server, not a script the model asked for.

What we measured

Catalog at generate time (GET /v1/models): id z-ai/glm-5.3-prime, name Z.ai: GLM 5.3 Prime, canonical slug z-ai/glm-5.3-prime-20260921. The created field is 1790199651, which is 2026-09-23 17:40:51 EDT. Context 1,000,000. Input text. Output text. video_tokens, audio_tokens, and image_tokens are 0.

hugging_face_id is null. I am not pointing at a weights repo.

The catalog description, as the models list returns it, ends in an ellipsis: "GLM-5.3-Prime is the high-speed variant of Z.ai's GLM-5.3, inheriting its full capabilities while delivering 1.5–2× the output throughput through inference acceleration. It supports text input and output with a 1M-token..." I did not measure throughput. That sentence is catalog text.

Reasoning is mandatory. default_effort is max. supported_efforts are max, high, and low. There is no medium. I sent reasoning.effort max. The usage object does not echo an effort. I report the value I sent.

top_provider.max_completion_tokens is 131,072. I set MAX_TOKENS to that cap. The models list had no z-ai/glm-5.3-prime:batch id. Batch was not used.

List price at generate time: prompt 0.0000028, completion 0.0000088, per token. Catalog default_parameters are temperature 1 and top_p 0.95. The stream script sent temperature 0.7. I did not send top_p.

meta.json has elapsed_s 705.2963793469826. The table rounds that to 705.30 s. Cost is the usage object's cost field, 0.53484. Upstream inference prompt cost is 0.0000728. Completions cost is 0.5347672.

usage.reasoning_tokens is 43,244. Streamed reasoning is 140,181 characters. Both counts. They do not match, and I am not going to pretend they should.

The prompt file is still 81 bytes. This usage object reports 26 prompt tokens. I did not send a system prompt.

content.md opens with a paragraph about a submersible, then the fence, then more chatter after the closing fence. The shipped file is the first fence only.

How it handled the brief

The brief is empty. This run built one page: a full-window 2D canvas, a depth HUD, a type hero, a sound button, an ascend control, and one inline script. node --check exit 0. 1,064 lines. The last line is </html> and there is a trailing newline.

The source names a whale, an anglerfish, a siphonophore, and jellyfish. The still shows jellyfish outlines and beams. I did not scroll. Naming an animal in the script is not the same as seeing it.

Fonts are a live dependency. The page links Google Fonts for Fraunces, Spectral, and IBM Plex Mono. I did not record those status codes. The still shows a display serif. No picsum. No <script src>.

http://www.w3.org/2000/svg appears in the file. That is a namespace string, not a fetch.

finish_reason was stop. The file closes </html>. I did not retry. Max effort did not eat the page on this call.

What I did not change

The shipped file is the model's HTML fence, verbatim. I did not restyle, rename, or patch taste. sha256 of the shipped bytes: 09e9894cc915950a5fa32c8df92f7dcf191729a9827365f6789c9949beec4f3f.

The Google Fonts link stays. I did not swap in system fonts.

Honest limits

• One open prompt. Beauty is not a score. The table is what I can measure. The link is what you can look at.
• This is not Official A. I did not find a scored post for this slug in the blog tree before I wrote this.
• This is an OpenRouter call. It is not a claim about what runs on any machine here. The catalog's 1.5–2× line is catalog text. I did not measure it.
• The still is the first viewport at 2.5 s. I did not scroll. I do not claim the 6,000-metre descent, the whale, or the anglerfish.
• The sound click did not throw. I did not measure audio.
• Reasoning is mandatory, and I sent max because that is the catalog default and the ask. Supported efforts on this slug are max, high, and low. A lower effort would be a different run.

Verification notes

Measured 2026-10-16 on OpenRouter from this box:

• Identity: completion model matched z-ai/glm-5.3-prime. Catalog id confirmed before the call. Catalog created is 1790199651.
• Tokens / cost / finish: stream usage object and finish_reason. Cost field 0.53484.
• Reasoning: 140,181 streamed characters; usage.completion_tokens_details.reasoning_tokens is 43,244. Effort max was sent. The usage object did not echo it.
• HTML size: 48,268 bytes after the first HTML fence. sha256 above.
• JS: node --check on the inline script. Exit 0.
• Still: Playwright Chromium, 1440×900, 2.5 s after load, local HTTP server on port 35281. Still saved before any click. executablePath was the cached Chromium under ~/.cache/ms-playwright/chromium-1243/chrome-linux64/. No software GL flag.
• runtime-gate: entry_ok=true; primary_action=soundBtn; no pageerror. Console 404s were /favicon.ico on the test server.
