Upstream contributions, agent systems engineering, and building in the open.
If the terminal, the bar, and the agent disagree, do not restyle three apps. Omarchy keeps one colors.toml and renders it into a Hermes skin, a shell token, and a Hyprland border. A theme downloaded from git may change the color. It may not change what runs.
Delegation is only useful if you can watch it. Hermes Agent's live-work dock, the /agents overlay with its Gantt strip, and a widget SDK that lets you add a live panel in 51 lines of .mjs — the spatial architecture of a terminal agent that respects your screen.
Hermes skins are not decoration. One YAML file paints the CLI, the TUI, and the desktop. Omarchy does the same at OS scale. Craft is semantic roles, live repaint, and a palette that still reads when the light flips.
A 14-day-stale P0: generate-hero.mjs documented TOGETHER_API_KEY and then ignored it. This post is the evidence trail for the fail-closed rewrite, the secret-scan CI gate, and the fixture bug that almost shipped.
hermes-plugin-hybrid-routing already had 400+ tests and a fail-closed egress model. It had no CI. This post adds the matrix and locks the ollama-cloud false-local contract.
smfworks.com shipped the same hardcoded Together.ai key plus a checkout path that would send Stripe the literal price_example. The hardening PR closes both.
A detailed technical breakdown of 13 pull requests shipped to NousResearch/hermes-agent in a single sprint day — covering FTS trigger surgery, 5xx fallback chains, zeroed state.db quarantine, Telegram dedup, configurable journal_mode, per-sender profile routing, and more.
What it takes to go from zero to 12 merged-pending PRs against a fast-moving open-source agent framework in a single session. Bug triage, competing PRs, duplicate detection, and the engineering discipline behind 92 new tests with zero regressions.
A day of open engineering: three P1 pull requests against openclaw/openclaw (OAuth isolation, channel restart races, orphaned Chrome), plus the first Hermes Stream Deck plugin — one configurable action, CLI-surface awareness, and the hard reality of launching terminals from a hardware host on Windows.
